Rules of the Court of Appeal 1994 Malaysia

The Rules of the Court of Appeal 1994 Malaysia are a set of rules that govern the procedure and practice of the Court of Appeal, which is the second highest court in the Malaysian judicial hierarchy. The Rules were made by the Chief Justice, President of the Court of Appeal and Chief Judge (Malaya) under section 17 of the Courts of Judicature Act 1964. The Rules came into operation on 1 January 1995.

The Rules consist of nine chapters and 63 rules, covering various aspects of civil and criminal appeals, such as notice and memorandum of appeal, entry of appeal, applications, evidence, affidavits, motions, costs, change of parties, and paupers. The Rules also provide for the forms and fees that are applicable to appeals. The Rules are intended to facilitate the administration of justice and ensure that appeals are heard and disposed of expeditiously and efficiently.

(A) 351/2020], which came into operation on 15 December 2020. The amendments also revised some existing provisions, such as rule 16 on leave to appeal, rule 18 on memorandum of appeal, rule 27 on applications to court, and rule 54 on costs.

The Rules are available online in PDF format from various sources, such as the official website of the Malaysian Judiciary, the website of TCC Law, and the Repositori Digital Kehakiman.
